Rights and Responsibilities in the Classroom:  Students, Parents, and Staff

Workshop date: October 26, 2022

Schools were established to provide an education to children and youth. Nonetheless, Canadian schools are becoming arenas in which the rights claims of staff, students, and parents frequently come into conflict. These conflicts occur in public, separate, and even private schools, and they frequently engage the rights found in legislation, human rights codes, and the Canadian Constitution.

Do you want to learn more about your rights and responsibilities in the Canadian classroom? In this workshop, we explore:

  • Do parents have any rights in schools?
  • What are the rights of students?
  • How are claimed conflicts of rights in schools addressed and resolved?
  • What can you do if your rights are violated in school?

Join us for this Zoom workshop with Justice Centre Litigation Director, Marty Moore.
