About George Jonas

Each year, the Justice Centre presents the George Jonas Freedom Award to a remarkable individual who preserves and advances freedom in Canada.

This Award celebrates the life and impact of George Jonas (1935-2016) – journalist, poet, author, and columnist. A survivor of both communism and fascism, George Jonas was a courageous defender of rights and freedoms in Canada and abroad.
